2005 Katrina: Relief Effort Event

Rome Area Prayer Service in The Forum: The community-wide prayer, music and worship service took up an offering to benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina. Donations went to Samaritan’s Purse International Relief. The non-denominational aid organization was chosen to receive funds by leaders of the involved churches. Involved churches included Bryant Chapel Baptist, Calvary Baptist, Cornerstone Church of Rome, Fellowship Baptist, First Baptist of Rome, First Presbyterian, First United Methodist, Hollywood Baptist, Lovejoy Baptist, New and Living Way Bible Church, North Broad Baptist, North Rome Church of God, Northside, Sherwood Forest Baptist, Thankful Baptist and West Rome Baptist. Berry and Shorter College were also involved in the event.
