Wedding: Elaine & Quentin

Charly Elaine Montague and Quentin David Jones were married at 6 p.m., Saturday, April 4, 2009, in Morris Chapel at Darlington School.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oliver C. Montague Jr. of Rome. She is the sister of the late Oliver C. Montague III (Trey). She is the granddaughter of James W. Cannon and Betty Montague, both of Rome, the late Bonnie E. Cannon and the late Oliver C. Montague.
The groom is the son of Regina Jones of Trion. He is the grandson of Rachel M. Compton of Chattanooga, Tenn., and the late Jesse E. Compton.
The Rev. Adam Anderson of Rome performed the double-ring ceremony before an altar centered by a black wrought iron spiral candelabra arch decorated with springeri greenery and tulle bows. Entry to the altar area was decorated with two pedestals with arrangements of belles of Ireland, green anthuriums, green carnations, red gerbera daisies, red mini carnations, red roses and green buttons.
A program of wedding music was provided by Tim Rowell and Monnie Wright with vocal solos by Lacey Wright, John Baird and Dana Breeden, all of Rome. Selections included “Parents Prayer,” “When God Made You,” “When I Say I Do,” “Canon In D,” “Bridal Chorus” and “Wedding March.”
Dana Breeden of Rome was the maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Whitney Lee of Jacksonville, Ala., Misty Griffith of Glencoe, Ala., Amanda Brown of Weaver, Ala., and Courtney Trammell and Sierra Gilreath, both of Rome. They wore apple satin ball gowns with pick-up detailing on the skirts, accented at the waists with black sashes and elbow length satin black gloves. The bridesmaids carried black magic red roses and charlotte red roses mixed with green cymbidium orchids in handle clutch bouquets hand-tied with black ribbon.
Lily Curry of Rome, cousin of the bride, was the junior bridesmaid. She wore an apple satin spaghetti-strap pick-up skirt ball gown accented at the waist with a black sash. She carried a smaller version of the bridesmaid’s bouquets.
Flower girls were Evan Cescutti of Rome, goddaughter of the bride, and Victoria Compton of Summerville, cousin of the groom. They wore white satin spaghetti strap dresses with pick-up skirts accented at the waists with apple ribbons. Evan carried a teddy bear with a collar of red and lime green ribbon adorned with red spray roses, green button mums and red mini carnations. Victoria carried a clutch of red charlotte roses with green hypericum berries tied with black ribbon.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, wore a white satin halter neckline ball gown with beaded lace bodice and beaded cut-out-lace appliqué cathedral train and lace embellished gauntlet gloves. She wore a tiara with rhinestones, pearls and crystals. Her two-tier fingertip-length veil had a beaded scallop edge. She wore crystal pearl chandelier earrings. In the bride’s shoe, she carried a sixpence token which was a gift from her great aunt. The bride carried a clutch style of charlotte and black magic red roses in a silver armature, hand-tied with ivory ribbon and wired pearls, trailing lily grass from the handle. Attached to the handle were handkerchiefs belonging to her late grandmother, Bonnie Cannon, and great-grandmother.
Keith Compton of Summerville, cousin of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Luke Patterson of Trion; Cameron Compton and Myles Compton, cousins of the groom, both of Chattanooga, Tenn.; Justin Stephenson, cousin of the groom, and Kyle Carlton, both of Summerville; and Scott Williams of Ringgold.
Ring bearers were Adam Trammell and Frank Curry, cousin of the bride, both of Rome.
The mother of the bride wore a formal-length cap sleeve one-piece tiered champagne dress. The mother of the groom wore a formal-length sea foam green dress with a matching sheer jacket. They were each presented with a triple green cymbidium orchid corsage with greenery and lime green ribbon.
Zach Trammel of Rome was an usher and escorted the bride’s grandmother.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the River Walk ballroom at The Forum. Refreshments included the bride’s four-tier butter cream icing cake. The base of each layer was wrapped in black ribbon and fresh red rose petals separated each layer. The cake topper, the couple’s initials, was surrounded by red rose petals. The groom’s cake was a replica of a 1975 corvette.
The evening before the wedding, the groom’s mother hosted a rehearsal dinner at Shorter Avenue Baptist Church.
Other pre-nuptial parties included a Christmas ornament shower hosted by Dana and Dora Breeden; a couple’s shower hosted by Lawana Billings, Gail Madden and Shawn Peek; a cocktails and hors d’oeuvres shower hosted by Cindi Kinne and Ashley Smith; a family shower hosted by Teresa Compton, Brenda Compton, Rachel Compton and Regina Compton; a miscellaneous shower hosted by the ladies of Shorter Avenue Baptist Church; a miscellaneous shower hosted by Penville Church of Christ; a bridesmaid luncheon hosted by Judy Clark and Elaine Montague; a lingerie shower and bachelorette party hosted by Dana Breeden in Nashville and a bachelor party for the groom hosted by Keith Compton in Las Vegas.
After a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple resides in Summerville.
